Simulation of emergency medical care, workshop – Multimedia Literacy, scientific seminar Georgian Vine and Wine Culture Research Novelty and Wine Tasting Master Class – these are the events which was held by Caucasus International University from September 22 to October 1 within the framework of Science and Innovation Festival.
Private and state universities, scientific-research centers, museums, libraries and publishing houses were engaged in a large-scale, ten-day festival together with CIU.
Science and Innovation Festival 2018 united conferences, public lectures, exhibitions and scientific-popular experiments which were organized by the festival participants.
Caucasus International University presented the stand of clinical skills on the first day of the festival, on September 22. Visitors had an opportunity to see the Centre equipment and observe emergency medical care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and assessment of vital signs in various situations on the examples of phantoms. It is noteworthy that CIU stand provoked great interest among the visitors.
The second activity which was held in CIU Multimedia Centre was the workshop – Multimedia Literacy. Media and communications in modern world, the experience of working with the camera, how to make a story and safe behaviors in the social network – this is a short list of issues that were introduced to the group, made up of 20 11th and 12th grade students who are engaged in journalism circle (Media Studio Time) of Youth National Palace, by CIU professors within the framework of educational program. It is worth mentioning that on September 24 a photo exhibition of second-year students of the Journalism program was held in Multimedia Center TV studio. The photos taken by the students within the framework of the academic discipline Photo Journalism were exhibited. The participants, trainers and the members of the organizing group were awarded special certificates towards the end of the workshop.
The next event held within the framework of the festival was organized jointly by CIU Research Department, Public Relations Service, Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking and Georgian National Museum at Archeology Centre. The scientific seminar- Georgian Vine and Wine Culture Research Novelty was attended by CIU Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking, undergraduate and postgraduate students and young researchers. Mindia Jalabadze, Chief Curator of National Museum, Doctor of History spoke with the guests.
The fourth and the concluding event was held in CIU wine cellar. Saba Kitiashvili, Master of Agricultural Sciences, graduate of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, Member of State Tasting Commission of National Wine Agency and International Class Sommelier (WSET second level) held a master class on wine tasting. It should be noted that the historical overview of the development of viticulture and winemaking in Georgia was also made by a graduate of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking – Shengeli Kikilashvili.
