The main aim of the certificate course is to make the participants aware of the current situation in Georgia and in the world in relation to health care, problems in public health care sector and evaluation methods of certain groups of population in health sphere. In addition, modern information technologies and search engines, the existing insurance and pharmaceutical policy, finances and health care economics will be introduced.
For whom is the course?
The course is designed for health care administrators, pharmacists, doctors, managers of medical institutions, students who want to increase theoretical knowledge and practical skills in health care and other interested individuals who wish to continue and / or start working in private or public sectors.

Main principles of health care management, the concept of management and its types;
Management functions;
Health care policy and strategy;
Peculiarities of implementation of health system reform in different countries;
Organizing management;
Patient’s rights in health care;
Manager’s work methods;
Human resources in health care;
Issues of ethics in health care;
Advocacy;
Pharmaceutical policy;
Health care economics, models of financing;
Methods for reimbursement of medical services;
Health insurance (public and private);
Georgian health care system;
Primary health care system;
Evidence-based medicine;
A brief overview of health care information systems;
Hospital and its models.
Training Methodology:
The training combines theoretical and practical experience. Thematic cases will be discussed throughout the course that allow participants to express their opinions and apply theoretical knowledge to practice.
Evaluation Methods:
The knowledge of a participant will be evaluated twice throughout the course. During the first evaluation the listeners will be given a specific situation and their goal will be to analyze it by using the gained knowledge and to make the right decision. The second assessment will be made based on individual or group presentations on pre-assigned significant topic.
The participants will be awarded certificates upon the successful completion of the course.
Duration of the training: 36 hours.
Training fee: 390 GEL (bank requisites are indicated on registration form)
