Another meeting with the students on the topic – My Profession - Dermatology was conducted by Ms. Lali Mekokishvili, Dermatologist, Professor within the framework of Career Week organized by the initiative of Caucasus International University, Career Development Centre and the Faculty of Medicine.
Hurry up without hastening! – this was the main message stated by Ms. Lali Mekokishvili, which must be characteristic of a representative of the medical sphere, as a field requiring high sense of responsibility.
The professor discussed in tails her way in the direction of Medicine after graduating school. She placed emphasis on those difficulties which coincided with the period of studies at higher education institution and later, professional activities. However, she noted that the obstacles are the ones that help an individual to define his/her priorities, acquire more knowledge and learn how to face each challenge in a positive way.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine briefly reviewed with students Dermatology, stages of its development, criteria and requirements which are imposed on students by the education system. In addition, she focused of wide-spread stereotypes and the components of basic and clinical medicine, knowledge of which are necessary for every dermatologist, including: immunology, genetics, endocrinology, pediatrics, surgery, etc.
Ms. Lali Mekokishvili ended her presentation with specific tips and recommendations to the students:
Do everything with love;
Collaborate with local as well as foreign colleagues;
Never be satisfied with yourself;
Constantly strive for self-development and share your knowledge with others;
Be respectful towards colleagues and stand on your principles.
We would like to remind you that in total 5 meetings will be held within the framework of the Career Week organized by Career Development Centre and the Faculty of Medicine from December 10 to December 15, 2018. The aim of the above mentioned project is to assist the students of the Educational Program in Medicine to choose their majors and plan their career.
