    Training Course for Staff

    Caucasus International University staff attended a training course “Exclusive Motivational Training “Service Gold 115” offered by Khatuna Muzashvili, a psychologist.

    The trainings took place twice – on 28-29 April and 4-5 May.

    Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, University Chancellor together with Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector and Khatuna Muzashvili, a trainer awarded certificated to the participants on 10 May, 2017.

    The above mentioned training course aimed at increasing motivation among the employees and was organized by the initiative and financial support of the university Chancellor.

    Khatuna Muzanishvili planned future collaboration and similar trainings in partnership with the training centre after awarding the certificates to the participants.

    Certificate Course “Wine and Wine Culture”

    Caucasus International University Life-Long Learning Service renewed a certificate course “Wine and Wine Culture”.

    The course will last for five days - Ketevan Jurkhadze, CIU Deputy Chancellor and Dali Tsatava, s researcher of gastronomical culture will provide information on such topics as: history of wine, qvevri and qvevri wine, history of gastronomical culinary, wine flavors, margins of its perception and defects.

    More than 30 specialists who are working in wine-making and individuals interested in wine industry and tourism have registered on the certificate course electronically.

    The aim of the course is to study wine typology, deepen knowledge in the relevant field and raise customer culture.

    Bilingual certificates will be issued upon the completion of the course.

    Concluding Conference of TEMPUS Project CrusieT

    The concluding conference of TEMPUS project CruiseT was held at Batumi Maritime Academy on 5-9 September, 2016. CIU academic staff: Elisabeth Malania (coordinator), Tamar Koblianidze, Lia Berikashvili, Maya Veshaguri and Tamar Chakhnashvili participated in the above mentioned event.

    The European experts participating in the project listened to the concluding presentations prepared by the coordinators of the partner universities. CIU representatives made a detailed report concerning the works conducted within the framework of CrusieT and discussed the implemented training and activities of the Regional Centre for Tourism Development.

    The international conference “Innovative Challenges of Maritime Industry: Maritime Transport, Engineering Technologies, Logistics, Tourism” was opened on 8 September, 2016. CIU professors together with the representatives of Georgian and foreign universities participated in the conference.

    CIU Students at CrusieT Summer School

    CIU students: Salome Surameli, Meri Kakhelishvili, Margo Kikalishvili, Mariam Olkishvili and Kristina Jagievi have participated in the international summer school organized within the framework of TEMPUS project CruiseT.

    It should be noted that European experts have praised and positively assessed presentations prepared by CIU students concerning research projects:

    · Hotels activities in social media;

    · Motivation study;

    · Quality Study, Georgian Wine.

    The presentations also highlighted the significance of research outcomes for promoting tourism development in Georgia.

    Students from the partner universities, Kherson State University, Odessa Maritime Academy, Kutaisi State University, Batumi Maritime Academy and Guram Tavrtkiladze Teaching University participated in the international summer school together with Caucasus International University students.

    University Life-Long Learning Service at Adult Education Festival

    Caucasus International University Life-Long Learning Service participated in “Adult Education Festival” on 1-2 July, 2016.

    The aim of the festival was to promote the concept “Life-long Learning” among the society with the assistance of various events.

    The conference “Adult Education and Local Development” was held at the first day of the event.

    The second day of the festival was opened by the marching of the Movement Theatre. The visitors had an opportunity to become familiar with the wide range of the providers of adult informal education in the open air: university life-long learning centres, adult education programs of vocational institutions and education centres from different regions.

    Caucasus International University Life-Long Learning Service exhibited a separate stand at the festival. Visitors and interested individuals became familiar with the information and visual materials presented by the university about the events and educational courses which are implemented at our university on regular basis.

    Further, mutual collaboration has been planned between a number of participant organizations and Caucasus International University during the event.

    The festival included some entertainment programs. Adult Education Centre trainers offered interested individuals master-classes on origami, knitting and painting.

    In addition, exhibition of the works were held at the event.

    “Adult Education Festival 2016” was organized by the initiative of DVV International Georgian Office and the support of Tbilisi City Hall.
